Section 3: Giving and Donating: By this we mean, voluntary contribution, one that is unrelated to the purchase of goods and services for one's self.
Q2.1: Areas/Activities donated money to: This question is based on the areas/activities on List A. Refer the respondent to the card entitled List A before asking question 3.1. Record in columns [1] and [2], codes 1 for Yes or 2 for No, if the volunteer donated any money to any of those areas/activities in the month of January 2010 and in the year 2009 respectively.
Q3.2: Amount of Money contributed: Where the response is Yes (i.e. 1) in column [1] of Q3.1, record the total amount of money donated by the entire household of the respondent in column [3] of Q3.2. Similarly, where there is Yes (i.e. 1) in column [2] of Q3.1, record the total amount of money donated by the entire household of the respondent in column [4] of Q3.2.
Q3.3: Type of organisation contributed money to: Before asking Q2.3, please refer the respondent to the card with List B with types of organizations.
Where the response is Yes (i.e. 1) in column [1] of Q3.1, enter the code that corresponds to the type of organization that the money was donated to in [5] of Q3.3. Similarly, where there is Yes (i.e. 1) in column [2] of Q3.1, enter the code that corresponds to the type of organization that the money was donated to in [5] of Q3.3.
